About the project
The Polish-Norwegian Youth Academy of Music project was elaborated by the leading institutions: Zespół Szkół Muzycznych in Warsaw and Barratt DueMusikinstitutt along with the support of partners institution team. The project derives from the strong belief in the meaning of education, and the role, the artists may play, acting as the ambassadors of human values.
The main goal is to create the efficient cooperative network of music highschools, educating the most talented young musicians. It aims to capitalize the experience and reflections of teachers, will and gifts of youth, whose capital for the future should be carefully protected. The syllabus is especially prepared to complete the educational programmes with the essential activities, usually not available during highschool. The project formula consists of 4 modules, enabling the composed development of young artists, and presenting the richness of Norwegian and Polish culture
- During “Ars longa”the students will be provided the complete spectrum of actions: concerts during the esteemed festivals, master classes with the outstanding artists, lectures, workshops..
- “Civis totius mundi” symbolises the common events, exchange of experiences, teaching dialogue, tolerance and mutual understanding. Those ideas will be implemented through the efforts of Norwegian-Polish chamber ensembles and orchestra, participation in the multicultural classes focused on history and society.
- “Genius loci” is the realm of project dedicated to the musical tradition in Poland and Norway, highlighted from the wide European perspective: playing the folk instruments such as hardanger fiddle and złóbcoki, learning about the background of history of music, visits and performances in the memorial places of acclaimed composers.
- “Signum temporis” links the classical music with the contemporaneity: composition and improvisation classes, combining the music with visual art, lectures on the music business and Alexander techniques – innovative way of the body and mind in music.
