Valdres Summer Symphony

June, 2011

Valdres Summer Symphony is ranked among the biggest and most famous events of that kind in Norway. Gorgeous landscape of Valdres and energy of hundreds young musicians, spending each year almost two weeks, cocreate the image of Festival, which is gaining the international recognition. The participants of Polish-Norwegian Youth Academy of Music had the opportunity to take part in this summer course. Individual lessons – solo playing, chamber music, being a part of two international orchestras as well as collaboration with the outstanding Norwegian bandoneonists – Per Arne Glorvingen composed the stay in Valdres. Our students presented their skills during the special concert, dedicated to the foreign participants of Festival – “Playing for the future”.

"June 26th, 8 p.m. we met at the Chopin Airport to launch off for Summer Symphony in Valdres. After the flight we landed in Oslo, where we slept and then we continued our journey to Valdres. During the following days we had the solo lessons with Norwegian lecturers, tango, string and syphony orchestra. Full of new, positive experiences, happy but tired, we came back to Oslo, on July 2nd. I think, that all the students up till now have the positive energy and remember this special trip to a beautiful country – Norway."
